it is good that it has a good navigation because navigation is always vital in a web design because you don’t want your readers to get lost in your site.

That was a great success for the website. I have visited the site and I see that it really have a good design from color scheme, navigation menus and lot more. This is the site that anyone want to have.

Collis, you have a great point there. I’ve been wanting to separate my trackbacks and comments, but I have the same problem you do. I don’t want to place them between the comments and comment form, but I don’t want them to be between the comments and the “Related Posts” box. To separate the trackbacks, I may have to do some serious re-arranging.

Skellie – That’s true. They’re well out of the way from regular visitors, but given the importance of the About page in particular, a little more prominence couldn’t hurt.

Deaf Musician – I’m not sure either, but I’ll find out.

Collis – Thanks for stopping by and hearing out the comments.

The trackbacks aren’t a pressing issue, but perhaps when you have more time, you could experiment with both above and below? (Below the “Add Comment” section). See what feels best? (It may also place more emphasis on your related posts and ads section, because there would be less link in that area)

Hey guys!!

Thanks for the review, some really good feedback. I have a list of changes that I’m meant to make (including making the site not break in IE6 .. gah!) and I’ve added some of your suggestions to the list:

- Post Categories in Footer
- Make Site Banner Clickable
- Rollover on Headlines
- More space between entries
- Make about/contact/advertise slightly more prominent

With the trackbacks thing, actually I debated about that for quite a while, it feels prominent in the position they are in now, but if you move them to below the comments, it interrupts the flow between the comment stream and the “Add a Comment” box at the bottom. I suppose I could move it to after “Add a Comment” maybe. I’ll think on it more, I was actually trying to make them as unobtrusive as possible as I sometimes question the utility of showing trackbacks (though certainly it’s good to get them!)

Anyhow appreciate all the thoughtful comments, especially on such a well designed site like problog!

If I were doing a simplicity review of the site I’d suggest they make the About, Contact and Advertise links bigger. At the moment they’re absolutely hiding. They’d probably actually do much better along the top bar.

One thing I notice with big sites is that sometimes they forget that not everyone knows who they are and what they’re about yet!
