Although it is always difficult to find an exact image to every article topic, taking time to find a right image might really help. But its also important to use a low weight image so that it loads sooner. This is my view.

I think similar to ebay/craigslist ads, people ignore posts without images especially when they are skimming. Because of this I think it is important to at least get an image on the post so that the eye-candy part of the post can be satisfied in the reader. Thanks!

Thanks for this info Michael, I always spend time (sometimes too much) picking out a relevant and inspiring image with my posts.

I do like to see images in posts, regarding whether they will encourage readers, i guess if the image is as relevant as possible, and of high quality.

I would compare it to billboard ads, if im approaching one, its usually the image that catches my eye, then if theres any text to read im interested, or looking for further info on the product/film or what it may be.

I appreciate the good advice in this post. For someone who loves images, you can certainly WRITE well as well!! :-)

Images also have another function as well, in that they can contribute to SEO by making use of the ALT= code to insert some text about the image to replace the image if it does not show. Ideally, you should find an image where it would be appropriate to insert your keyword phrase.

It will be perfect if the image enhance the subject of post. However, my pinion is, when a perfect photo for each blog is not realistic, a nice landscape photo would improve the look and feel of post remarkably.

I post a lot of images in my blog. It really does increase views because a lot of people are visual learners. Not that they need pictures to read my articles, but it shows them an insight on what the article is about.
