All the tips are right on point, as a visitor I do definitely look out for all those factors you mentioned, Michael. The first thing that gets my attention is the design of the blog and the color used, anything too bright turns me off and neither do I want to struggle with the font size.

Great post. Opened my eyes up a ton. I now hate my blog layout because I’m more concious of whats actually going on with the design. I guess thats a good thing after all, admiting there is a problem is the first step to make progress. Whitespace rocks!

Shine – I love the comparison. I hadn’t properly thought of that before, although I’m definitely coming round to seeing the advantages of organization and minimalism in life, as well as in design.

Michael – Seems that it’s working then! :D
