I use Symphony (symphony.com) because I just don’t feel like most CMS’s are powerful enough and simple enough at the same time. Symphony is somehow able to do it. I also use Wordpress for just blogs, and I really like textpattern too.

I have just put word press & b2evolution on our sites and for most of the pics we use photoshop..

I know what you mean. This definitely isn’t going to become a Photoshop blog. That niche is well and truly covered (And covered better!) by many other blogs. It is a design blog though, so Photoshop does pop up from time to time. And because it’s not a Photoshop blog, I’m not sure how many of my audience will have it. From the polls, I can now see the majority does though.

Voted – I think you should keep things pretty much as it is, except for a few more posts (though you shouldn’t compromise quantity). Photoshop isn’t very relevant, considering all the blogs dedicated to it. WP hacks, on the other hand, is exciting, seeing as how you would have used quite a few of them yourselves.

Oh, and I use WP and Photoshop.

That’s interesting. You don’t often hear of people preferring Gimp over Photoshop. It is much more user-friendly I suppose (Photoshop has a horrible learning curve!). Thanks for answering the polls. If I try to increase the frequency, I won’t let it affect the quality. If it seems to be doing that, then I’ll scale back the frequency again right away!

Thanks for the reply. You could be right there. WordPress is my specialty, and I know very little about the others. It could be fun to learn them, but I might be spreading myself a little thin! I think I’ll work on getting used to Gimp for now, and then maybe look into another blogging platform afterwards (Between WordPress.org and .com, that’s over 80% of the votes up there. WordPress still has to take priority then )

I love what you’re doing here Martin. I’m using Blogger, WP and Joomla for different blogs, so it would be nice if you can generalize your coverage a bit.

On the other hand, if you want to concentrate on WP, you should put your sole focus on it or you’ll struggle either against time..or quality. And I’d rather see more quality than more posts- which is what you’re doing right now. Keep it up!

Hi Michael!
I enjoy your blog very much. I would personally welcome more of your posts, but if frequency would water down the quality, then keep up what you’re doing.

I answered the various poll questions. My blog is on 9rules, and I wanted to customize their leaf-logo to match the colors on my blog better. I tried doing it with Photoshop CS3, which is on my work computer, and I could not get it to take some of the colors. I used Gimp here at home, and it worked like a charm and was so much more easy to use. I also use Irfanview for resizing and cropping the pictures I put on my blog. It’s really great for that type of image editing.
