Pixelmag seems so simple yet elegant. I’d prefer it to others as I prefer to focus on usability and speed.

    • Andrew (9 comments)7 April 09

As for me I prefer minimalist design

    • Printer inkt (2 comments)13 May 10

Like they say: “Less is more”

    • I have same opinion with you, fast page load definitely will make search engine to crawl faster and that means more page will get indexed.

But I admit it, these design are very cool and looks professional

    • HD Guy (12 comments)30 August 10

Pixelmag looks like the best in this round-up, I agree. Minimalist is always the best way to go, for your users and the search engines.

    • Marty (9 comments)30 August 10

Crawlability and fast page loading are contributing factors to a website’s success

  11. Bob Barker (1 comments)9 April 09

This a very clear example of what is wrong with our industry. Be fucking original. Stop this “theme” look bullshit.

    • Billy (1 comments)9 April 09

Seriously, jesus, and “User Interface Design”? They’re fucking blog themes for crying out loud.

  12. I’m sorry but I don’t like the designs. Okay some of them are pretty nice but most of all they’re 13 in a dozen ‘template’ designs. The typical $150 bucks all inclusive stuff….

  13. Arjen (13 comments)11 April 09

I do like the designs.. well, most of them. I really like the scrap of notebook paper.

    Thanks for sharing!

  16. Robert (11 comments)14 April 09

i serious had some flashbacks to the late 90′s when i saw these tuts! The old bevel-look menu buttons are back and trendy again…. what a crap collection.

  17. mandy (1 comments)15 April 09

This is a great resource especially if you are just trying to get to grips with different design styles in Photoshop. However I would just use these techniques to gain an understanding and try and build on them with your own creativity and intuition. Its important for designers to continue to push the boundaries, with designers continuing to use the same techniques again and again we risk creating designs that will become dull and boring.

  18. conficker (2 comments)15 April 09

I like the billing application ICON. It’s like they start with a simple shape, and before it’s done it’s an elaborate illustration.

  19. baloot (12 comments)17 April 09

Thanks, however this is not what I need. The system is much more sophisticated than that.
First of all, extension check is not acceptable, and second of all, you can get an exe file rename it as a txt.
However when you upload it it’s still an exe.
I prefer to limit it as well to control how much bandwith is spent. I do so on my website Builders4u pretty well.
