Hiring Blog Design Writers, $50 per post!
26 I want to make Pro Blog Design better. I’m open to any suggestions you have for that, but the first step I want to take is to add more writers to the site.
I will still be writing regularly, but with others on board, it means more points of view, more topic variety, and most importantly, more frequent posting!
How It Works
- Anyone can write articles. There are no staff writers as such. Anyone can submit a post at any time, and if it’s good enough, I will publish it and pay you. (And if you would then like to become a regular writer, that’s great! Email me and we’ll talk).
- Authors are given credit for their work. Each article of yours will have your name next to it, linked to an author page on this site, with a blurb about you, links to your sites, and all of the posts you’ve published on Pro Blog Design (Just like the PSDTuts system).
- All articles will be edited by me. Please don’t be offended if I suggest changes, fix grammar, add links etc. However, no major changes will be made without your approval. It’s still your post.
- Articles must be unique. It cannot have been published elsewhere previously, and once the payment has been made, ownership of the article passes to Pro Blog Design. It cannot be re-published elsewhere.
- Payment are made per post. I will pay $50 per accepted post, and $80 if the post is a social media success. As the site continues to grow, those rates will go up, but for the time being, they’re set. All payments are made by PayPal, so you’ll need an account there.
How To Submit An Article
When you have written your article, send it to me by email. If you would like to send it as an attachment, my address is my name (Michael), at this site.
I will get back to you with my thoughts, and if the article is right for the blog, I’ll get your details off you, pay you and publish it. Simple!
If you have any questions (e.g. You’d like to hear what I think of the post topic), that you would like to ask before you spend the time writing, just email me.
I’m looking forward to seeing who will reply to this, and what you’ll come up with. It’s a big step for Pro Blog Design. I hope it works out well!
If you have any designer friends who might be interested in this, please pass the link along!

Michael,
I will be more than happy to write for you. Just one thing, what about blog themes? To build up a unique and decent blog designs with your credit on the footer?
Awesome idea, Michael. I think you’ll be getting some emails soon. :)
Mehmet,
Cool – Looking forward to hearing from you.
Themes are a great idea, but I’ve never had the time to do that properly yet. I wouldn’t want to have just 1 or 2 themes, and then no time to add more. It would need to be a decent collection, which would take a lot of time.
On the other hand, I’ll be releasing the current theme for free whenever I redesign, so maybe having a decent number of themes isn’t an issue? Hmm…. thanks for the suggestion. I’ll keep it in mind at least! Who knows? :)
Easton,
Thanks, I hope so! :D
This is so funny, Michael. I was just thinking “Maybe I should get into freelance blogging. But how can I find someone who will pay $50 per post (Skellie’s suggested minimum)?” I clicked through your comment link on Anywired because, well honestly I wondered if you were Michael Martine and you had just misspelled your name. Then I saw your post title and laughed at the irony! Anyway, I’ll check out your blog and see if I think I can help.
Hunter,
Ha, that’s good timing then! $50 was Skellie’s suggested minimum, yep, and Collis Ta’eed mentioned the same price in an article somewhere. It seemed a fair rate to me.
Thanks for the interest. :)
Let’s see… $50×5=… :D
I may be interested in writing a post or two for you in the future (once I wrap up a few projects I’m already working on). The funny thing is I was considering asking if you would be interested in a guest post (on what, I hadn’t decided yet), then you go and announce you’re going to pay people. :D
Redwall,
*Cringes at the thought that if he’d waited a bit, he could have gotten a free post!*
Just kidding :P
When you get the time, you’re welcome to.
That’s quite a good amount especially for the topic and the blog.
I have had design, useability and optimization-related thoughts for quite some time that I’ve not really found a place to write down at. I hope you’ll accept it, and Problogdesign readers will like it. Will email you soon :)
PS: Does social media success include only Digg or does it also include SU and Del.icio.us?
Sumesh,
Great! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. :)
Digg is the easy one to spot (If it hits the front page, it’s a success! xD ), but StumbleUpon counts every bit as much. I use Google Analytics, and if I see a spike, it’s a success. :)
Not sure about Delicious. I’ve never hit it’s Popular page, but if it sends over a good number of readers, then definitely!
Thanks for commenting. Great idea to join a blogging forum, I’m going to try the forums you mentioned for sure. I’ve still got a lot to learn, but I see my visitor count increase every day.
Thanks, and good luck with your blog!
Hope you like them Campodiez! They’re very friendly, with plenty of great people. Good luck with continued growth! :)
This is great maybe I’ll brush up my writing skills and when I get the time I’ll try and submit more. I love blogs that have guest writers its such a brilliant idea and opportunity for so many people.
Liam,
Glad to hear it. Hope you do get some time on your hands!
Michael: Great to see you making some strides with your blog! This sounds like a really great way for you to get lots of new content. Who knows, maybe I will come up with something one of these days, I myself just launched a new blog about Niche Store Building (linked to my name here).
Way to go my friend!
Tyler,
Thanks. Your new blog sounds interesting. I’ll have to go check out a few posts now!
Hey I may be interested in helping out with a post here and there, I’ll see what I come up with and email you.
Lipton,
Awesome. Do email me if you come up with anything. :)
Michael, I would write for you for free, because I think it would be an honour to write a post on your blog. But I am not a blog/theme designer, so I doubt I’d be able to write anything you’d pay for, LOL.
But I do look forward to reading posts by other bloggers here :D
Pelf,
Thanks for the kind words! :D
I’ll make sure there are some posts for you to read soon. In the meantime, you’ll have to put up with me a little bit longer, sorry! xD
What a great plan … I can’t believe I was once thinking of charging others for the privilege to post on one of my sites. One of my projects is to revamp an old cold fusion based website and convert it over to WP and allow my members to become contributors. The payout will be in the form of eBay affiliate commissions (they get to use their affiliate ID) because the articles will contain links back to eBay.
I just found your website and will have to look around to see if there is something I may be able to contribute. I have subscribed to the RSS and will be watching it daily.
Regards … Scott
hi im really interested in your post. so any topic will do ?
Thanks for this post, very informative. I will check back later, as I need to know this for my next project.
publish it and pay you. (And if you would then like to become a regular writer, that’s great! Email me
Well done for sharing this information.
I wonder if this offer is still available
“Hi,
Interesting that you should post a comment like this. Google “”look beyond resumes”” and the site that comes up is what I’m currently working on. We faced a similar issue like yours and we decided to try and take a crack at changing this.
What we’ve done is completely abandon the classical “”resume”” and we’re trying to get a sense of the person even before we make a call or an interview.
It has helped immensely in getting us the right set of people.
And what’s more, we’ve identified that hiring that is driven by skills and experience is just not working any more. It’s how you groom someone who aligns with your vision that matters. “
